That’s not pluperfect!
Aaaaagh, this is driving me crazy and I need to vent somewhere!
There was this dialogue in episode “Parent Trap…” of Don’t Trust the B**** in Apartment 23:
— It’s a ton of work, and, frankly… Me encuentra un peu bukan zhongfu.
— Huh?
— That means “I’m feeling overwhelmed” in Spanish, French, and Mandarin. I really wanted to wing some Tagalog at you, but I don’t know the pluperfect.
There’s no pluperfect there! Or am I misunderstanding something?
American sitcom that uses the word “pluperfect” in its dialogue??? I guess now I have to try an episode…
I hope you had a good party last week!
I’m on the fence about the series. There is a type of obnoxiousness that I don’t tolerate too well in characters — or maybe people in general — (the B****, Chloe, in this case comes close) but on the other hand there’s James Van Der Beek. Alright, no, he’s not my real reason of sticking with the series. Really. I’m just curious to see how it is.
Thanks for reminding me. I’d forgotten (that’s a pluperfect!) to update my About Me page. AND now I realised it had said (another pluperfect!) “29” in the front page footer for a whole 2 years. Whoops. I knew there was a reason I had included (yes, a pluperfect! I’m on a roll!) the age counter PHP code snippet on my site in the previous theme… Or maybe I should just leave it at 25. All women stay at that age, apparently.
But in all seriousness, thank you so much How on earth did you remember? (Ehm, well, the last post about the topic hasn’t even left the front page yet…) The party wasn’t really a party but I was determined to do something special after work so I left promptly-ish after 4 PM and went for a coffee and dessert with little sis. And last weekend I watched the first movie in my brand new Dark Knight Trilogy Limited Edition boxset. Maybe next time — I have 9 years to plan for a big one.
