Hero(in) for the game addict
I couldn’t help myself! I had to buy Prince of Persia: Warrior Within even though it was pretty expensive (and we usually either wait for a game to come from a game club or buy them used). I couldn’t wait that long and in such uncertainty!! In 10 days I’m going to buy Splinter Cell 3 so maybe this wasn’t such a good idea but who cares. It’s only money. Hard-earned money.
I desperately needed a fix.
Ok, I had Prince of Persia 1 and 2 and I kinda got bored with 2 (although I played 1 forever in those days).
What I remember hating about 2 was that you couldn’t save it at the spot 2 seconds before you got killed. You’d save it but it would start at the beginning of the level again.
Tell me is the newest one good? Can I compare it with Half Life 2 and the Painkiller that I can’t get past, with every level getting harder and harder (and so now I hate it and don’t play it anymore).
It’s difficult to say about the newest one (Warrior Within) because I’ve just started playing it. The fights are sometimes very frustrating and I just quit a minute ago because I got tired of a fight. I’ll continue later, of course (I didn’t spend 50€ to give up on a game).
Save game spots are a rarity and so are the places where you can restore your health, and the enemies are insane! But there are so many moves (in this newest) that I just haven’t mastered them to fight well enough. I just hack and slice and vault over all the time. That used to work in the previous game.
This newest (Warrior Within) one is dark and gloomy. I enjoyed the previous one (Sands of Time) very much, because the acrobatics stuff and the puzzles were refreshing. Warrior Within is more about fighting and it gets a little exhausting at times.
I think PoPs (both Sands of Time and Warrior Within) are “passable” but sometimes you just get stuck for a moment. But they aren’t action-packed shoot-em-up games, if you like those better. I do hope it’s not as impossible as Painkiller.
