Things you shouldn’t hear from a tech support
Today our latest tech support addition (probably/hopefully just for this summer) was doing something on Adobe Framemaker. I overheard him telling our DTP specialist that the program had given a message about something like “uninstall all TrueType fonts to continue” so he was asking what to do about that. He continued “I guess I can uninstall them because the program said so.”
<body onload=”alert(‘Find a new job. Far, far away.’)”>
Nah, I’m afraid he has to go. (Unless you in fact meant him?)
Yes, yes. Sounds like all it would take is a simple pop-up message.
Ahhh…! Great idea! Gee, I feel stupid, I didn’t get the joke.
I’d have probably uninstalled the fonts already and then reinstalled them. I’m the type of person who listens to my programs!
HEY! You finished Half Life 2: Episode One? And you didn’t even tell me? I can’t even get past the part with the big circular energy ball!?!
Well, I told you here but I suppose it doesn’t count… sorry!
Is it the one where somewhere high up in a room there are narrow pathways going to maybe 3 directions around the energy ball and the energy is pulsating? I just ran past it (with the button pressed that makes you run faster).
